Hi there, and thanks for writing! While your GPA is a concern, you have done everything you can to help offset it - a stellar GMAT score, an alternative transcript, and the CFA. Additionally, the admissions process is holistic, and you have progressive work experience along with meaningful extracurricular involvement. Therefore, if you use the optional essay to describe the reasons for your low first-year GPA in a way that indicates ownership and responsibility, I feel that the programs you've listed will be within range. And while Wharton is indeed very competitive, I wouldn't call it a shot in the dark - if you put together a strong application you certainly could be in contention. I would consider Chicago Booth as well.

My question is do I stand a chance at anyone of these schools considering my horrible GPA?
