Hi mellamoabhi,
Thanks for sharing your profile with us!
You've hit the nail on the head regarding the biggest concerns with your profile:
(1) The fact that you already have an MBA is more concerning than your age (although that will also be an issue for the full-time US programs that you mentioned). Typically, business schools are reluctant to assign a valuable spot in their incoming class to an individual who already has an MBA, even if it's from a non-US institution. Such cases are exceedingly rare; you would need to have a very compelling reason for why you're seeking a second MBA, especially this far along in your career.
(2) Related to the above, AdComs will wonder why you think you need a second MBA in order to achieve your stated career goal of working in retail / CPG on market development. Isn't that what already you do now, albeit perhaps at a more junior level than you're shooting for in 5 or 10 years? Why would you need another degree to return to the same industry down the road? I understand your desire to work for a couple years in management consulting, but again, the AdComs will wonder why you couldn't just take the 2 years you would dedicate to a second MBA and work your way up in your current employer or another company in the CPG world instead.
(3) As you also pointed out, you're well above the average age for top full-time MBA programs in the US (and you'll be older by the time you enroll). While this in and of itself is a concern, when paired with the fact that you've already attended business school before, this will be a difficult obstacle for you to overcome. Again, you would need to have a very compelling argument for why you want another MBA at this point.
Nothing is impossible, of course! In your case, it all boils down to what specific reason(s) you can give for why you want to go back to business school now (and saying that you want an MBA from a more prestigious institution this time probably won't cut it -- there needs to be a reason why you would absolutely need a 2nd MBA from a US school to achieve a _particular_ career goal down the road that would be inaccessible to you otherwise).
I hope that's helpful -- feel free to reach out to us at
