Hi,
I gave my gmat today.
- Scored 710 (Q50, V37, IR:7)
- I did my BTech from IIT Kanpur (One of the top 5 colleges in India) and scored a 9.1/10 in my undergrads.
- Have a work experience of 4 years (2 MNC : Mastercard and Gartner) and one startup (started by top executives of Google in India). Industries I have worked in : Payments and Technology, Research and Advisory, FinTech).
- Leadership experience: I joined the startup when it was in nascent stages, and helped grow it to 60k+ users. Although not a part of leadership team (my title is still business analyst), I lead the data team in my startup and helped build the data platform from scratch. In my previous organisation (Gartner) also, I helped build the data platform from scratch.
- Extra curricular (undergrad):
- Led placement committee for the college
- Led the hospitality and accommodation committee for the college fest (budget > 10 million)
Extra curricular (postgrad):
- Formed a covid response team (on a personal level, with friends) which provided food (free of cost) for 2 months to ~300 families in delhi, when it was devastated by COVID second wave
- Extensively involved in sports, swimming and table tennis (pre covid) with a club
- Author of an unpublished book (110 pages completed)
My target schools are: Harvard, GSB, Wharton, Booth, Kellogg, LBS, INSEAD.
Questions:
- Are female IIT'ians working in tech an over-represented group? If yes, how much of an disadvantage I am at?
- Is 710 a bad score for the schools I am targeting? Or do I still have chances?
- How strong is my profile overall?
- Is there any effect on my chances of scholarship at these schools because of GMAT? (I belong to low income family)
