Hello.

Here are some facts about me. Mainly looking for recommendations on where to apply(realistic with my profile) with a GMAT score of 700. I am only looking into European Business Schools as of now.

Demographic:
Male, 34, German by nationality. Will be 34 during application. Born and Studied in India. GPA of 3.1 in Mechanical Engineering.

College activities:
Mechanical Engineers student association activities
Voluntary activities including tutoring for school students from financially backward community
Team member in organising technical festivals in college

GMAT

WE
Right now 8 years of full time WE in Germany with plenty of international exposure.

I am employed at a deep-tech company based in Germany (engineering/smart materials).
I started in Process Development. Essentially involving R&D activities into processes associated with the new technology implementation.
From fourth year, I moved onto Process Engineering which was an evolution from the Development activities from the previous 3 years of hardwork, where I was responsible for implementing the processes in newly developed production lines setup in Germany, Taiwan and China. Got to travel extensively in the next two years, to Taiwan and China, working with an international team helping setup assembly lines.
Later moved into Design & Development R&D with my FEM simulations as my area of specialisation.

Going forward I expect my role to be at management level role within the R&D group.


Extra curricular
1. Have successfully build up a ''higher education mentoring'' business started as a ''hobby /giving-back-to-society-venture'' and later decided to make a business model out of it due to the traction it started receiving. Employing 5 people, and generating more income than my full-time job in a time span of 2 years. Have set up efficient processes and systems such that the business is almost taking care of itself without much additional time investment.
2. Part of Alpine trekking club
3. Part of Swimming club
4. Enthusiastic bike rider - clocking minimum of 2000 kilometers per year for past 8 years
5. Passionate traveller interested in exploring new cultures (have been to almost all major capital cities in Europe and stayed more than a week.)

What schools can I target? I am looking to either apply to schools known for strong entrepreneurship/innovation labs.

Appreciate advice and will respond to all of the PMs!

Hi Vijil

As an Indian who also worked in Process design and development (FEM) in R&D Division for a French company and later moved to China to work on several industrialization projects setting up assembly lines, I can say you stand a great chance of getting into schools such as INSEAD , LBS and HEC. Your GMAT score is decent (though not exceptional) and your truly international work experience and conscientious decision to grow within your current industry makes you an ideal candidate for these schools. Known for strong entrepreneurship education, INSEAD also has great connections and several treks and networking events organized from time to time in collaboration with top Global Engineering and Design focused companies (this may be of your interest). Being on the Fontainebleau campus would prove really advantageous if you are looking to network in in France, Netherlands or Germany.
I strongly recommend you consider INSEAD as one of the target schools.
