Hi,
I introduce myself as a 28 year-old female from India.
GMAT: I sat for GMAT in 2021, and scored a 680 (Q48V35). I'll be retaking the test sometime in April to bump the score up to a 720+.
Professional background: I have over 7 years of experience in journalism, marketing, and communications. I spent 3 years working with the world's second largest public relations firm where I was promoted each year. I have mainly consulted clients in the legal and telecom industry. I then moved to India's largest law firm to establish marketing and communications function at the Firm and scale it subsequently over a period of 3.3 years. I now work with a magic circle law firm, and I'm in a way leading the Firm's India marketing and communications initiatives. This magic circle law firm has never had such a role in their India office. I'll be implementing various communication and marketing initiatives here and then scale them in the future. This role also gives me an opportunity to work with various colleagues in the Firm's global offices.
Awards: I have won three awards for best campaigns in different categories. I was also recognised as 'Innovator of the year' at the Indian law firm for a pro-bono related idea.
Reason for MBA: I want to explore product marketing related and consulting roles. I feel a bit stuck in the current role.
Possible red flags in the profile: Low GPA in Undergrad. I did Bachelors in English Literature from Delhi University.
Extracurriculars: I was voted as one of fittest professionals in the PR industry. I have been coaching women since then on weight lifting. I also spent some time bartending, and have helped a lot of women find employment in the events industry by eliminating middle men. This also led to an increase in their pay.
Which colleges should I target? I would want to consider one year programs. I'm also aiming for substantial scholarship. Considering all of this, what GMAT score should I target? Is INSEAD a long shot?
