Hi
shriniv7 ! Thanks for reaching out to us at Stratus, I'd be happy to evaluate your profile.
I appreciate all of the details you sent in advance. You have plenty of time before applications, a good UG GPA, and great test scores all in your favor. This is important for someone coming from a male/India/engineering background--which is, frankly, a crowded space. You're wise to consider the financial impact of an MBA, and many schools would love to entice someone like you with a scholarship to bump up their average test scores--so it's all a matter of targeting the right programs.
Your work experience is interesting, but I'm a bit unclear as to your career goals. What has been your north star til now? The industries you've worked in are wildly varied for such a short period of time, and each role has been relatively short. What are your short and long term goals post-MBA? These dots will need to be clearly connected in your essays in order to give the adcom confidence that you have a clear direction and know how to achieve it.
To answer your questions:
1. Certain elements are strong (see above), but your storytelling needs to be clear in order to explain the journey you've been on, and where you plan on going. At a minimum, I'd recommend not leaving your current job and giving it some longevity. You could also take part in an extracurricular activity that directly relates to your post-MBA goals
2. This will also depend on your storytelling, but the US schools you mentioned could be targets with scholarship potential. INSEAD, LBS, Said, Judge, and Rotman would be unlikely for scholarships, but the others could have potential
3. That's probably a tall order, but you never know. Since you have time, you may want to cast a wide net and get your applications started early, in order to give yourself a shot at 1-2 stretch schools where you may be able to garner scholarships
Honestly, storytelling is often the biggest reason folks reach out to consultants, we do this every day with our clients. If you want to reach out for a free consult, I or anyone on our Stratus team would be glad to explain more about the steps you should be taking to get to your best applications. I see some great, unique elements in your profile. Connecting the dots of your past and where you want to go in your future will determine how much the AdCom want to invest in that story.
