Hi
mbaaspirant007 hope this finds you well
Here's my take on your profile
Academic arc - very promising
GMAT- good but not great. If you are hopeful of getting into the top 20 US schools with decent scholarships, you should aim for a higher GMAT. You can also apply to ISB in R2 or R3.
ECs- Very interesting with immense potential for storytelling
Work Experience and Goals-
You have a unique work profile. Although research profiles are great and differentiated, you must demonstrate an action-oriented functional responsibility in respective projects leading to a high level of stakeholder management/engagement. You need to unpack your experiences and reconstruct your stories in a way that shows that working on high-impact projects has given you much more hands-on experience and opportunity to engage with leaders from the industry, more experiential maturity, and more capability to contextualize business problems. International experience is a definite plus. However, it is not clear what you truly aspire to do post-MBA. Think why you need an MBA when you can switch from technology research to product roles and startups even without one.
For goals narrative, it helps to iterate smaller steps that will help you transition to the industry/role of your choice. Deliberate on your post-MBA goals keeping in mind what possible career tracks in the short/mid-term could help you attain your long-term vision. Keep laying down your thought process on your career goals in the essays and present alternatives to your most preferred immediate career objective that will yet lead to long-term fulfillment.
Best wishes
