Hi,
If possible, could you evaluate my profile for top schools in U.S/ Europe for a Masters in Finance or MFE? Would appreciate your honest feedback and guidance on areas of improvement.
1. Education: B.Tech. IIT, Delhi (GPA 3.6 / 4 WES)
2. Scholarship: (partial) for undergraduate studies (top 0.1% of engineering candidates)
3. Work ex: currently 4.5 years
> 1.5 years in Mumbai, 3 years in Tokyo; fluent in English, Hindi, Japanese(enough to get through)
> Core banking / digital banking product consultant ( Fortune 100 ) ; Client consulting and Software Engineering (Java/databases/web programming/ IT systems) for financial transactions for a retail bank
> new job: Japanese finance / fintech firm; right now my role is focused on core apps dev/support in Proprietary trading system (PTS) - used by investors to trade securities (low latency, high capacity); monitoring, C++, python ; *just started*. This is NOT trading.
4. GRE score : Quant (168), Verbal (159)
Doubts:-
> My transcripts aren't great, especially for the Math + Fin combination. Should I take the subject test in Maths to make up? Is it a good idea? I don't want them thinking I am not serious. I also want to take the CFA L1 in December this year - as I want to deepen my financial knowledge (going onto L2, L3 in subsequent years). Ultimately I want to move into a financial role in finance firms. Is just doing CFA enough combined with my tech experience?
Please share your comments and please guide.
Regards,
KK
