Undergraduate Degree: BSc in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Monterrey Institute of Technology (Top 10 university in Latin America) -- GPA: 94.25/100 -- Academic Honors – 1st of Class (Semesters abroad in Australia and Madrid)
Graduate Degree: Msc in Corporate Finance from Santo Domingo Institute of Technology - GPA: 3.89 / 4.00 (Part time masters while working)
GMAT: 670 (Q42,V40)

Work experience (3.5 years):  Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare Administration (governmental non-profit)

1. Plant & Operations Manager (Apr. 14 - Present) - National Cancer Institute Rosa E. Tavares Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
   Responsible for the day-to-day plant operations of a 110-bed, 28,000 m2, public cancer center, managing 135 employees and a $1MM budget.
   Coordinate the installation of the first Cyclotron Centre in the Dominican Republic, with a government investment of $20MM, to improve cancer diagnosis and 
 treatment.
2. Radiation Oncology Administrative Coordinator (May. 13 - Apr. 14) - National Cancer Institute Rosa E. Tavares Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
   Improved Radiation Oncology Department efficiency by balancing process bottlenecks and, as a result, increased daily service capacity by 25%.

3. Planning and Development Coordinator (Jan. 13 - May 13.) - Essential Drugs and Medicines Programme Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
   Created key performance indicators for the Departments of Finance and Operations to monitor their performance and make relevant adjustments to meet 
 institutional goals.

Extracurriculars:  
Cancer Volunteering – participation in diverse donation programs for cancer patients.

Schools i'm planning to apply: 
First priority: Cambridge MBA, Oxford MBA, HEC Paris MBA
Second priority: Imperial MBA, IE Business School International MBA

The average GMAT score for my first priority schools is 690-685. Therefore, I'm considering to re-take GMAT if necessary, as low quant score was the result of the computer not working properly at the start of the section, which made me lose 3.5 minutes.

Hey there,
So first of all you have a VERY unique and interesting profile. Health care management in a hospital, from a country where we see very few applicants (and which the schools will like a lot!), with a LOT of management experience. I should also add that one nice thing about your profile is that you have the potential to make a REAL difference on people's lives. It can be more than "I'm gonna make a whole bunch of money for a big bank, but you can improve the health of the people from the DR! Which is awesome. And potentially very interesting and moving.

I would definitely suggest retaking the GMAT, as you seem to believe you can do significantly better, and there is no reason at all for you (or anyone) to apply to B-school with anything less than the maximum GMAT score you can pull. I'd suggest killing yourself to study over the next months, and set yourself a test take near end of May. The higher score you can pull, the better results (and more scholarship) you will see! So invest in this now. Because the payoff can be huge.

Other than that, just keep doing what you are doing and with a great GMAT and a fantastic story, I think you can come relatively far.
