Hello there,
Thanks for writing me back and sending that detailed document.

Soooooooo the short of it: You have very good stats here, and your work experience is also pretty good, buuuuuut there are some tough things:
1. Being from a very tough and competitive applicant pool (Indian/Male/Tech)
2. Having mostly technical experience
3. Lack of pizzazz.

Let's talk about number 3 because the other two.... there's not much you can do about :)

When I read through your document everything looked good, but at the same time I was getting this Deja Vu feeling... like there was something standard about your presentation. And that is exactly what you cannot let happen! If you want this to work, you need to be unique! different! And that is something we will have to look for.

As for schools, I guess somewhere between 10-30 ranked should be about right....
Hope this helps!

Hi Jon,

Thanks again for your time - and yes - this will certainly help !

Yes I completely agree regarding the pizzazz factor. I racked my brain, searching for the differentiator but unfortunately I haven't found anything outstanding :( Anyways, I will keep working on that aspect..

aha! So this is where the digging comes in!
I got two ideas for you:
1. You may not have a lot of pizzazz in an obvious place, but it could be that you have three or four things that when taken all together make up something unique.
2. If you can't be unique in the CONTENT, be unique in the FORM - write differently! use humor! originality! poetry! genius! dazzle them with your writing.

Somehow you will have to stick out to make this work,
Best,
Jon

Thanks Jon for the advice - really appreciate it. And your last sentence could not be truer in my case :)

Kaushall,
Allright. But no funny hats!
That would be cheating!
