Hi, my name is Akshay.
1) Professional Experience : Worked for Deloitte in India as a Management Consultant for ~3 years primarily in the Life Sciences (Pharma, medical devices) and Financial services space. Took on responsibility of managing individual pieces of projects and lead client discussions with top leadership of firms. Lot of my work had to do with engineering growth - organic and inorganic (M&A). Hence, moved out of this role to work with a startup in the education sector..essentially to learn more about bottom up scaling and growth. Currently managing client acquisitions and business development for the startup for the last 5 months
2) GMAT : Score a 740, Q51 V39
3) College info: Graduated from Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, majoring in Chemical Science and Technology. GPA 9.46/10 Silver Medalist and Full-ride scholarship
4) Active part of the music community on campus, regularly participating in open music challenges, and band competitions. Post-graduation, have taken a significant liking to swimming as a passion. Plan to get certified as a swimming coach soon and possibly volunteer at swimming pools in the neighbourhood
5) Important certifications: NA
6) Your target programs: Plan to apply in fall 2015. Primary target schools include Stanford GSB, MIT Sloan and UCB Haas.
7) R1 2015-16
8) Setup my own startup in the life sciences/ tech space else work for a similar high technology company in a marketing or strategy role
I would like to know if I should consider taking the GMAT again to get a better score. In view of my target schools and that I have some time to spare before applying to them, what activities should i consider doing before applying to them?
Thanks!
