Hey Jon ,
Thanks a lot for your valuable feedback.

A brief reply to your query regarding my switch

Firstly I was involved with sport at the age of 3 when my mom introduced me to swimming. I participated in a lot of local swimming events.
I started playing football and that changed my life completely. it made me a better person thought dint earn a lot of money by it. By the time I had saved enough I decided to give it a try, my childhood dream which was so close to my heart(we live only once don't we?) . Then came Muay Thai, a full contact combat sport. I went for Muay Thai because it was a new challenge for me and that I had to overcome my fear of getting beaten up, we all have that don't we! It enabled me to overcome my fear in the worst of times, to fight back . It was more of a symbol towards life in general that you can't back down from a fight. Frankly in India we don't have much scope for either football or Muay Thai but some inner voice asked me to go for it. So sport changed my whole philosophy towards life. With that I was a decent student academically with above average coding skills.
As per achievements I am a two time Muay Thai national level player, institute football champion, district level swimming champion. I am selected for the if a Muay Thai world championships(as I mentioned) but too busy with gmat prep.

I would really like to know if my story would be appreciated by schools, I experienced a lot of emotions while being associated with sport. Moreover I realised that money can be earned but that age of 23 where I could give the sport passion a try won't ever come back. I would like to better the life of sportsmen using my Mba skills and knowledge. To mix sport and business, taking the example of Indian premiere league which is a big business venture at the same time improving the life of cricketers or the Barclays premiere league which is a household name. I would like to have my own academy using the global exposure I obtain from b school and use it for the betterment of sport.

Hope I have made my point clear,
Regards,
Kushagra pandey

Hey Kushagra,
I think going with a sports/business mix is probably a good idea. In your application what you will have to do is go out of your way to show not only your passion and involvement (which I think is clear) but also any kind of knowledge, skills or experience with sports management. That way you can show that you are capable of doing what you want to do. And also come up with very clear goals related to sports that make sense given your background.

If you can do these things PLUS get a great GMAT, you will be golden.

Hey. Thanks a lot for the reply. It made me more aware of the way I can proceed.

to be precise I would like to establish my own academy which produces Olympic level athletes. In the long run I would like to establish a sport league . Obviously I will think more about the exact Details and make this almost perfect.

Assuming I get a 700+gmat score and a clear motive (which I am sure I will plan out) what are the b schools I should aim for? .

It's always easier to say with a real GMAT, but let's say that if you were to get a 720+ your comfort zone would be in the 10-20 rankings about. And if you get lower, well then lower... but we can see when the moment comes.

Good luck!
