Hi there,
Thanks for posting/sharing. Your case and situation are fairly unique... yes some docs apply to MBA programs, but in the middle of the MD degree, and without much FT work experience, it may be a challenging sell. The biggest factor, if a strong GMAT score is a given, may be your overall story and whether it convinces the adcomm or not that this actually makes sense for you; that your goals are realistic and you need the MBA; and that NOW is the best time for you to do it. I believe they may be a bit skeptical, and also wonder why you want to interrupt the medical studies entirely for a full time MBA program. Mentioning the top MBA programs in the US also makes it that much more challenging.... so you'll want to think through whether this is the best option at this point in time, and how flexible you are on program options if by chance you didn't get into these programs. Also, while it may not amount to anything, it may not hurt to make some appointments to speak with admissions officers at some of the schools now, think of it as an informational interview almost, to ask them about timing and suggestions given your specific background and unique situation. While you may not get much info from them, you never know, you may get some advice and hints on how that school specifically may view your situation... not something I advise often for the larger programs but in less common scenarios it can be worth trying. (Another place these conversations sometimes take place is at an MBA fair, fyi).
Good luck!
