Hi
MbaMission team,
I am planning to apply Mannheim, ESMT, and WHU for the 2017 intake. I am looking forward to hearing your pieces of advice and comments on my profile.
- I am graduated from Industrial design from a technical university ( one of the top schools in the country), with 3.2 GPA. Most of my technical classes have a lower grade than my artistic and verbal classes.
- I got 650 from GMAT. I can do better with a little more study since I haven't even gone through all questions in
OG and GmatPrep
- I worked as an industrial design in a global company manufacturing technology accessories for two years, after my graduation.
- After two years, I build my own startup, which was a social marketplace, jumping into the business area. Before founding my own company, I had open trials, such as startup-like projects, taking part in business plan competitions; and awards from the entrepreneurship projects.
- After two years of managing my own startup, I failed, gaining several know-hows and hands-on experience. I was offered a job immediately by my mentor, who owns a seed investment company and accelerator, a small company in size but a dominant firm regarding its impact on the startup ecosystem in the country.
- I worked at the company as a sales and marketing executive. As an employee belonging to the core team, I was directly connected to the CEO, taking part in important decisions ranging from finances to the main strategy. I supervised 2 of my colleagues and managed to outsource parties.
What do you think? Should I retake Gmat?
If yes, I am planning to focus on my profile and my essays mainly in the following 15-20 days and spend 3-4 hours a day for Gmat. The other alternative is learning German rather than studying gmat. I am aware that German is not a requirement for the application, but for my future and after MBA life. The earlier I start learning, the better.
