Hi there,
I'd greatly appreciate feedback on my chances for business school admission. I think I'm aware of my weaknesses, but it never hurts to get feedback and perhaps advice! Thanks in advance.
Personal: Pacific Islander, Male, 25yo, 1st Generation College Student, US Citizen
Education: BS Math, BS Econ from a large state school (3.5 GPA). MS Applied Economics from Hopkins (4.0 GPA)
Work Experience: Did 6 months as a full-time data science intern for a tech start-up, where I was essentially the head model developer immediately after graduation. Switched over to work in quant finance for a BB bank doing commercial portfolio strategies. I also did a bunch of internships as an undergrad... particularly in healthcare consulting and operations for a BB. (I started and finished my MS degree while I worked as a quant finance analyst)
GMAT: 740
Outside Work: I help out in running a tennis club in my community... Play some tournaments about once a month somewhere in the US. I'm also an active participant of a math tutoring volunteer initiative.
Motivation: I'd like to transition into management consulting. Quantitative finance is not what I expected nor is it something I enjoy. Quite frankly, I would like to stay away from the heavy quantitative modeling I do for a living now.
Schools: I'd like to go for a top 10 school. Ideally, Stanford (for personal reasons).
Concerns: I'm lacking a couple years of work experience that other candidates have in their back pockets. From my research, it also seems like I may be on the younger side.
Thanks again for the help!
