Yes company sponsorship is definitely a vote of confidence and in the plus column. Congratulations on that! Not following what you mean by divert efforts in that component.

Hi MBAPrepCoach,

I appreciate the reply. Yup, I also notice that specific to Wharton EMBA, GMAT scores are published but not GRE; so I won't be detrimental to pulling their averages down.

I shall heed your advice on focusing on essays and recommenders.

Also, would the fact that my company would sponsor me financially increase my chances of admittance? I feel that the panel is confident in an applicant whose employer is willing to spend US$220k for said applicant to take on this EMBA. If so, then I can divert efforts in that component.

Great. What I mean is that I need to start conversations with my manager and HR at my company on my prospect of studying EMBA and what kind of support / sponsorship I'd receive.

Thanks again for the advice!

Oh yeah, I just checked out the EA format. 90 mins exam! Half the duration of GMAT's.
Maybe I'll see if I can spend time on that too.

Oh I see so it's not certain yet that you're getting full sponsorship. Yes if you were to achieve that it would definitely help. Very sincerely I don't really think you should invest a lot of time in taking the executive assessment the GRE is completely fine. You almost have a perfect quant score, there's really not a whole lot of optimizing that can be done here. I would just provide evidence of the verbal part through the application and interview process.

Please trust me when I tell you it's that whole lot of effort to do a good job on these recommendations - you want to think about which recommender can share the best and highest stories for each of these questions which are quite important for the executive MBA. It's kind of seen as a proxy for how others experience you - which is a big part of how they choose people. You are both the product and also the consumer.

So put your effort into brainstorming stories for each of these questions. It's basically 12 essays. And you definitely do not want to just hand this off to your recommenders and hope for the best. They generally do not know how to do the proper storytelling. So an outline in STAR format is best but written in their own words.
