Hey guys,
This is my first post here. Currently i am a little concerned about my future after failing my first "serious" attempt on the GMAT by a landslide. I attempted the GMAT already two times before that whilst working, but my working hours were a little too tough. I am currently 22 years and would like to start a Masters Degree in fall 2020. I would love to pursue a career in corporate finance.
Education: Bsc Vienna University of Economics and Business
- Focus on International Finance, Taxes and Accounting
- Exchange semester at BI Oslo
- Finished 87th percentile overall and 97th in rate of progression in my cohort
- Absolutely terrible GPA, 2.39/5, where 1 is the best and 5 the worst
Work:
- Internship 2 Months in Private Banking
- Internship 1 1/2 years Big Four in Audit, Tax and Valuation (Started during my 6th Semester)
I Finished my Degree in August last year, so exactly a year ago and finished my Internship in April this year. Since then, i have put 3 months into the GMAT and sadly didn't perform as well as i expected (or the Prep tests indicated). For my second "gap" year i am currently planning to do 6 months in corporate finance with a video game publisher in Asia and a shorter Internship with a Market Research Institute in Germany, so i hopefully won't be doing nothing the coming year.
My issues:
- Bad GPA
- Already three attempts on the GMAT
Now my question to all of you is: What should (or rather could) I shoot for with my profile?
Best regards!
Just writing bad GMAT doesn't make your case here
Also you must check your GMAT and GPA against the GMAT and GPA range of the respective school
There are people here who say a 700 is bad
