Hello,

I have 2 years of work experience and a CGPA of 5.82/10
My engineering specialization is in the field of Engineering Physics and currently, I am working as a Digital Marketing Manager.
I am an alumnus of Tier 1 institute in India - IIT Guwahati.

I haven't started with my preparation yet, but the mock that I took I scored 600 in that. I am aiming for a 740+

Following are my college preferences -

1. Kellog School of Management
2. Wharton
3. Harvard Business School
4. NYU Stern

Please help me what are my chances, and yes I'll need financial aid.

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. As your profile stands now, I think those schools will be very challenging, especially Harvard, which is one of the most selective and tends to put a big emphasis on GPA from what I've seen. Your lower amount of work experience will be a challenge too, plus the strong competition from other engineering applicants from India. I would take the time that you need with the GMAT so you can get a 750. If you can reach that score, then a school like Kellogg could be in play, though it's hard to predict chances of scholarship and your low GPA may make that challenging at such a top school. If you want to boost your chance of scholarship, then I would mix in some lower ranking schools too.
Hope this helps and good luck with the GMAT!

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.
Please suggest colleges with a good ranking, where I'll have chances of getting a scholarship with a score of 750-760 GMAT score.
Also, I am ready to wait and gain more work experience. Please suggest.

If you're open to it, I think waiting one more year would be helpful. It would put you more in line with the average applicant in terms of work experience, give you plenty of time to get a high GMAT, and if extra time, I would also recommend taking a supplemental course or two (could be online) to help mitigate your low GPA. School selection is a really personal decision and depends on a lot of factors aside from just rankings...suggest you take a look at our free ebook on selecting target programs: https://shop.mbamission.com/products/se ... ba-program

Hope that helps!
