Hi
ecfor, there's not a ton of information here really, and with the vast number of programs in the world and a very fuzzy idea of what your goals might be, it's pretty hard to guide you...but in general, I'd say - let the schools' profiles be your starting point, but try to outperform them because you are in a competitive category, as I'm sure you know. Your GMAT score is generally good, but for an over-represented applicant, the rule of thumb there is to apply to schools where you are a good 20-40 points above the average...especially because in your case, your GPA looks low compared to similar candidates so your GMAT has to compensate somewhat... I'd be looking at schools outside the top 15 in the US, and do your best to produce good essays, strong recs and a solid resume. What about Canadian/European schools? The GMAT averages for those programs tend to be lower than at top US schools and the average ages also can be higher...of course, I'd adjust this based on your goals and target geographic preferences (are you staying in sports?).
Hope this is helpful in some way, good luck!!
Warmly,
Julie-Anne
