Hi, I am a GEM graduate from an old IIT (7.5 cgpa). 5 YoE in CEO office roles, strategy & program management with startups.

10th:95%
12th: 88%

Yet to take GMAT in 10 days. Official Mock score 685 (Q90, V80, D82)

Have extra curriculars & sports to highlight but nothing major to call out there.

Not targeting any other school for now except for ISB.

  1. What are my chances do you reckon?
  2. What scores should I target in GMAT that can make a good application and increase chances for a call?
  3. Also is taking GMAT on 24th (so close to 26th R3 deadline) a risk in any sense?

Many thanks in advance for taking out the time and sharing your thoughts.
Hi @ Your profile reflects good academic credentials as a GEM graduate from an old IIT (7.5 CGPA) and impactful professional experience with 5 years in CEO office roles, strategy, and program management at startups. With a great foundation in quantitative skills, your mock GMAT score of 685 (Q90) is promising, it's essential to aim for a great score(720+) to stand out in ISB's competitive R3 pool. While your extracurriculars and sports involvement add value, ensure they are framed to highlight leadership and teamwork. Taking the GMAT just two days before the deadline is fine, just ensure all the application components are finalized and submitted on time without any rush. For R3, crafting a strong narrative showcasing your startup experience, adaptability, and impact will be critical to improving your chances in this limited-seat round. If you feel confident enough with your application there is no harm in applying in this round but if there is something that feels like could have been better, you can consider targeting the next cycle for a stronger application. You can also take a look at this blog. Wish you good luck!
