Hi, I am a GEM graduate from an old IIT (7.5 cgpa). 5 YoE in CEO office roles, strategy & program management with startups.

10th:95%
12th: 88%

Yet to take GMAT in 10 days. Official Mock score 685 (Q90, V80, D82)

Have extra curriculars & sports to highlight but nothing major to call out there.

Not targeting any other school for now except for ISB.

  1. What are my chances do you reckon?
  2. What scores should I target in GMAT that can make a good application and increase chances for a call?
  3. Also is taking GMAT on 24th (so close to 26th R3 deadline) a risk in any sense?

Dear dtxgmat

Lets talk about the immediately noticeable strengths in your profile, and those are your academic credentials and your work experience. We will try to address your questions one by one.

1. We do see potential in your profile, but whether or not you make it ahead will depend a lot on how well you are able to craft your profile and of course partly also on the GMAT score you are able to secure

2. Given your profile, a GMAT FE score of 655+ could be a considered a safe score and can make your application well rounded

3. Given you have already been scoring well in the mock exams, we do hope that you will be able to replicate the same performance or perform decently in the actual exam too. You are allowed to submit the ISB application with the unofficial score and the official scores have to be received by ISB within three weeks of application submission. So, ideally we do not see many risks in you appearing for the GMAT so close to the application deadline. Just give your best for the application and the exam :)
