Hi,
I would really appreciate a review of my profile below.
· Demographics (nationality, gender):
Bangladeshi, Female
· Education (undergraduate institution, GPA, major - high school/entrance exams not needed):
BA in Math and Economics (3.6 GPA) from a Liberal Arts college (think Bucknell, Skidmore, etc)
· Other coursework or post-undergraduate education:
MSc in Applied Economics (3.6) from Johns Hopkins University (pursued part-time while working full-time)
· GMAT or GRE (include section breakdown):
700 (Q47,V40, IR7, AWA5)
· Work experience (highlight amount of work experience, industries, roles, promotions, special accomplishments, international exposure):
- VP/Principal at top econ consulting firm (think CRA, Compass Lexecon, Cornerstone, etc.) - joined as an analyst 10 years ago (4 promotions)
•Lead projects involving analyses of a wide variety of industries to provide insights on economic issues related to multi-billion mergers and litigations.
•My leadership, communication and management skills have led to quick career progression. I'm usually in case/team management and client facing roles on case teams.
•I started helping with recruiting soon after I joined my firm and three years ago was asked to lead the office’s analyst recruiting efforts. Under my leadership the analyst classes we have hired have been increasingly stronger. I have also initiated numerous successful collaborations to increase diversity in our office, firm and the economics field overall.
· Extracurricular activities (highlight notable undergraduate and post-undergraduate ones):
- Undergraduate (probably too long ago to mention at this point) - Resident Adviser; Research Assistant; President of Asian Cultural Association; Student Rep on Enrollment Planning Committee; Peer Tutor
- Post-graduate -
· Probono Consultant: Provide strategic consulting services to local non-profit organizations focusing on arts and education. Work on teams with many post-MBA consultants.
· Resume Coach - Mentor incoming undergraduate scholars (recipients of leadership scholarships) and guide them with building their resumes
· Math tutor (past) - Local elementary school
· Trained dancer and have performed at a few local events over the years
· Post-MBA goals:
Pivot to corporate strategy roles
· Target schools:
1. Stanford MSx
2. MIT Sloan Fellows
3. Haas EWMBA
4. Marshall PT MBA
5. Anderson FEMBA
Considering :
- Full-time programs at some of the schools above and Columbia
· Any specific questions you would like answered by our team:
- Should I consider retaking the GMAT? Would a 720-740 score boost my profile at these programs?
- Given my post-MBA goal of switching career tracks, should I consider applying to full-time programs?
- What is the biggest weakness and biggest strength in my current profile?

Hi, and thanks for writing! For PT programs, your GMAT score should be fine, especially for Haas, Anderson, and Marshall - if you do go for FT, I'd aim for 720+ to be in line with the average score for these FT programs.
Since you're looking to switch to corporate strategy, I think it depends on how strong you feel your network is within firms in your target industry, since the advantage of a FT program is the robust nature of the on-campus recruitment - if you already have a pretty strong network with former clients, etc., a PT program may work for you. Another thing to consider about FT, though, is that applicants on average have 4-6 years of work experience - while it's not impossible to get in with more experience, it does make it more challenging. PT and Executive programs, by contrast, are geared towards those with 10+ years of experience.
