Demographics: 28, American, White Male
Undergraduate: Double Majored in Marketing and Management with a minor in Political Science at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln with a 2.96 GPA (ouch)
Other Educational Qualifications: Studied abroad in Brazil for a summer where we partnered with students from a local university to help them solve a case study for a large Brazilian company (Billion+ yearly revenue). We then presented our findings to the CEO of the company.
I also was part of a four person team that won a Case Study at my university that was sponsored by a very large employer (~20 billion yearly revenue). We then traveled to their headquarters to compete against the winning teams from other schools. We unfortunately didn't win there.
GMAT: 720 (48q, 40v) planning on taking again
Work Experience/Internship:
I work for a large healthcare provider in the United States. I am in a sales role but have been promoted multiple times. I have met with multiple large employer/municipalities and won those accounts.
Notable Extracurricular Activities:
I volunteer once a quarter at the Salvation Army. My family/church prepare a meal at the Salvation Army and anyone that wants to is able to come and have a free meal.
Post MBA Goals: I would like to do some type of consulting.
Target Schools:
Darden, LBS, Fuqua, McCombs, UCLA (any other school that places well into MBB that you think I would have a shot at)
Other information:
A few years ago I was diagnosed with ADHD and am now on medication for it. I don't know if this is anything I should bring up when trying to explain my poor GPA. The main problem was I was still trying to work 20 hours a week and wasn't really sure what I wanted to do in college. I simply didn't put in the effort that was required. I have matured a lot since that and am ready to correct that mistake by succeeding in business school.
Questions:
Do I have a chance at any of these schools or any school that places well into consulting? If not is there anything I can do to improve my chances. I'm open to taken online classes or anything like that.
Thanks!
