Hi Experts,
Could you please evaluate my profile for the top MBA programs? Thank you in advance. I am targeting Sept 2022 or Jan 2023.
Demographics - 28, Indian, Female
Educational Qualification/ Achievements
1)Graduation GPA: 5-Year Dual Degree (B.Tech + M.Tech) from IIT Bombay - 7.2/10
2)Received Undergraduate Research Award at IITB
3)Class X - 88%
GMAT: Target 700 (Not yet taken)
Work Experience (Total 4.5 yrs) - India
1)Management Consulting Exp (3.5 yrs) - Japan’s largest Management Consulting firm with 45+ offices worldwide
- Sector: Automotive Downstream
- 3 Promotions: Associate Consultant >>Deputy Senior Consultant
- Leadership experience: Led 10+ projects as a Project Leader, Top scorer in the Peer Performance Evaluation System
- BD and Client Management: Engagement Manager for a key client; Won projects repeatedly from the same client
- Worked on a few marketing projects
2)Startup Exp (1 yr)
- Worked with the CEO to execute projects across different functions
International Exposure
1) Worked with Japanese clients, different teams from SEA
2) Undergrad Internship at Warsaw University of Technology, Poland
Extra-Curricular:
1) Event Manager at College Festival
2) Travel - Explored 9+ countries in 3 years.
3) Sports - Won 3 medals in the Inter-college championship. Represented in Inter-IIT Sports Meet for 4 successive years

Post MBA Goals:
Primary - Want to transition from consulting to the industry side in a marketing role.
Secondary - Shift to industry within the business strategy function
Target Schools: HEC, INSEAD, Cambridge Judge, IESE, US Top 10 schools (Still trying to figure out)
Questions-
1. Is my profile good enough to be considered for the top10 colleges (UK, EU, US)
2. Can you suggest achievable schools with my current profile? Are these reasonable choices? Are there any schools that are better suited for my career choices and profile? What are my safe target colleges?
3. I don't have extra curr after college except for traveling and dancing. How badly does it affect my profile? Any suggestions to improve that?
4. Would like to know what are the main weakness that you see in my profile. Any other areas of improvement?

You have impressive work experience, with promotions from a top consulting firm, and you have strong leadership potential as evidenced by leading many different projects there. I also like your international exposure which is appealing to MBA programs. That being said, top 10 schools are very competitive, and you will also need above average stats (GMAT and GPA) as well as a compelling story to have a good chance at admission. So in addition to a very strong application including essays and recommendations, you will likely need a higher score than 700 on the GMAT. I would suggest applying to some reach, target and safer choices; your target schools would be close to top 25/top 30 programs.
To answer your final two questions, I do think extracurriculars aside from dance can help you improve your profile, and it is still not too late to make an impact in an organization. If you can do that, as well as significantly exceed a 700 on your exam, that will really improve your chances at a top 15 school or a school like INSEAD and Cambridge.
