Demographics (nationality, gender): Dual Citizen - Taiwanese & USA / Male
Education (undergraduate institution, GPA, major - high school/entrance exams not needed):
Undergraduate: National Taiwan University, Major in Mechanical Engineering 3.7/4.3
Other coursework or post-undergraduate education
Graduate: Rice University, Major in Architecture 3.13/4.00
Graduate: Quantic School of Business and Technology, EMBA 88.42/100
The quantic degree is pursued with full-time employment. I enjoyed the program for absorbing business knowledge at my own pace individually, but the alumni connection is not exactly as strong as the in-person MBAs. I am hoping to pursue an in-person 1 (1.5yr) MBA to gain strong alumni support and provide me with the resources for a potential triple (double) switch.
GMAT or GRE or EA score (include section breakdown)
2nd attempt: GMAT 680 (Q51 V30 IR8)
1st attempt: GMAT 680 (Q51 V29 IR6)
Work experience (briefly highlight amount of work experience, industries, roles, promotions, special accomplishments, international exposure)
I have nearly 8 years of work experience. The first 3.5 years, I worked at traditional architecture design firms as a designer and project manager managing design and construction projects. The later 4.5 years I worked at two proptech startups as project and operation manager and currently running my own residential design and construction management business full time. My work experience is all in the United States (TX, NY, CA).
Post-MBA goals
Short-term goal is to relocate to Southeast Asia in management consulting or entrepreneurship in the real estate space if I meet the right group of ppl.
Target schools
INSEAD / HEC Paris for 2024 January intake. Hopefully to get in either one. If not, then I'll focus on 2024 Sep Intake at top European MBAs (IESE, LBS...etc)
With the 2024 Jan intake June deadline approaching, I'm not sure if I can get any substantial increase in my GMAT score in the short timeframe. Would love a fair review of my profile on how competitive it looks for 2024 Jan intake, or if I should take some time and prepare for early rounds 2024 Sep intake. Thank you so much in advance!
