Hi ahahbsbbsho ,

Your profile looks impressive, with strong academic achievements such as clearing CA and CFA levels on the first attempt and maintaining excellent performance in 10th (89%) and 12th (93%). Your 17 months in strategy consulting at a top firm, coupled with an 18-month internship in the oil and gas sector, highlight early exposure to impactful roles, though your relatively short work experience could be a challenge. Your extracurricular involvement, including NGO work, scaling a startup pro bono, and leadership roles in college, adds depth and demonstrates a well-rounded personality. To enhance your competitiveness, aim for a GMAT score of 700+, and use your essays to highlight your leadership potential, strategic contributions, and clear post-MBA goals. You can consider targeting schools such as ISB, Oxford, Cambridge, or NUS, where your analytical skills and early-career accomplishments can stand out. If feasible, connecting with alumni or students to get more insights and personalize your application further could enhance your candidacy. What's going to matter most in your application is how you connect the experiential dots and build a great story to stand out from other applicants in the pool.

If you’d like, we are happy to discuss your leadership skills, impact created, challenges faced, awards and achievements and extracurriculars to assess your chances to top B-schools and strengthen your application with impactful stories.

Dear ahahbsbbsho,

We see clear highlights in your profile with good academic credentials and a diversified work experience (considering your exposure to strategy consulting and also the oil and gas sector by virtue of your internship). If you can bring out impactful stories from your experience with the NGOs and the startup which you helped scale, they could further strengthen your application. If you are targeting the PGP YL program, even though presently we have no baselines in terms of average scores of accepted candidates, we can recommend that a GMAT Focus Edition score of 645+ will help you put forward an overall competitive profile. We have also recently conducted a podcast with ISB's admissions and financial aid manager where we talk in detail about PGP YL selection criteria, score cutoffs (if any) and scholarships. You can view the video at : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78NLGMewy5s

Further, we will be happy to get to know your profile better and support you through the admission process. To gain deeper insights, feel free to schedule a free session with our team at : https://calendly.com/reachusfly/15min/

Warm regards,
