Hello everyone,

I am planning to apply for ISB next year. My profile is as follows:

10th- 82.7%
12th- 69.37%
B.E from a shut down tier-3 college in Nagpur with 69.71%
Work ex- 3.2 years Tata Consultancy Services

What would be the ideal score for GMAT for me.
My profile looks very Basic now I know till the application Please suggest If I can improve anything.

Any other Suggestion also Okay for me.

Thanks,
Hi HarshKadu , I hope all is well!

Your profile for ISB is still developing, but there are several ways to strengthen it as you move forward with your application. While your academic background (10th: 82.7%, 12th: 69.37%, undergraduate: 69.71%) may not immediately stand out, your work experience at TCS (3.2 years) provides a good foundation. To enhance your profile, focus on showcasing leadership roles or impactful projects at work, as ISB values business impact and leadership potential. For the GMAT, aiming for a score of 700+ would significantly improve your competitiveness, given that the average GMAT score at ISB is around 710-720. Additionally, engaging in extracurricular activities or volunteer work could help demonstrate a well-rounded character, which ISB appreciates. Pursuing online courses or certifications related to management or leadership could further strengthen your profile. Networking with ISB alumni or current students to understand their experiences and application strategies could provide valuable insights. Overall, with a focused approach on improving your GMAT, leadership experience, and extracurricular involvement, you can create a compelling application for ISB. Hope this helps!

Hi,

Can someone please help me judge my profile for ISB.

10th - 95%
12th - 93.8%
UG - 85.5% (Engineering)

Work experience - 3 years as a management consultant at a Big 4

GMAT Score - 655 (Focus Edition)
Extra Curriculars - Nothing Significant

Do I even stand a chance with an average GMAT score and no ECs?

Requesting someone to please guide me on the same.
Thanks

Dear Manan_Singh,

From what you have shared, we can clearly see that you have performed very well academically. While we have only a limited understanding of the nature of your engagements and impact so far, three years of management consulting experience at a Big 4 firm will certainly add significant weight to your profile.

With regard to extracurriculars, it is natural to think only of big wins such as national level tournaments. However, even something that you have consistently pursued out of interest and that adds positively to your life can be just as impactful. When tied well to your story, such experiences can help uncover values in your personality that make you a better team player and a valuable addition to the cohort.

At Team FLY, we are a collective of ISB alumni dedicated to supporting prospective MBA applicants with profile positioning, essay reviews and interview preparation.

We believe your profile has real potential. To understand your profile and your goals better and offer more personalised guidance, please feel free to book a 15 minute free session for a detailed discussion with us: https://calendly.com/reachusfly/15min

With warm regards,

Hi Manan_Singh,

You have a strong academic background and consulting experience with a top-tier firm. Those speak for the strengths in your candidature.

Yes, it is great to have strong extra-curricular activities. However, not everyone has them. Yet, one may still be able to build a case for himself/herself.

To further unravel the strengths in your profile, we encourage you to take a free strategy session; don't worry about enrollment etc; even if we are able to give you some good insights, we will be happy.

All the best!

A critical component missing here is your UG School. As a former director of admissions at ISB, I see your score is competitive on other parameters except UG School (which is not given in your message).

Make sure you craft a very strong essay and prepare for the interview now itself. Schools give you very limited time to prep for interview.

Thanks,
