Hey everyone, looking to apply for 2022 intake in the US (i'm currently based in the UK). Need advice on timelines on applications - targeting M10.
My background
Undergraduate school/major: International student at a non-target in the UK (non LSE/Oxford/Cambridge/UCL) but consistently rated amongst the top 20 in the world - did Accounting and Finance
Work Experience:
Joined investment banking post undergraduate in a middle office role, moved to strategic investments after finally doing M&A advisory for a year and half. Moved into a tech startup of around 150 people, as a finance analyst and now head the team here (reporting to CFO). Involved in internal M&A, strategy, business development, just completed a Series raise so do a lot of investor relations and stuff. The business has grown a lot and I'm pretty proud that I have driven a lot of initiatives to grow both the topline and bottom line.
Race: South Asian
Age: 29
Sex: M
Stats
Started GMAT prep with
TTP this week, with the aim of giving it in August 21.
Undergrad: Upper Second Class Honours - around 3.2-3.4 GPA i think (suffered an injury in university so that hampered my performance quite a bit)
MBA info
Goal: As you can see I've done investment banking M&A, I've been working at a start up that is backed by big names in the tech world (inventors and operators at FAANG). Managed to network and perform my way through even though I'm from a non target with a relatively low GPA compared to my peers in both the banking and tech world. I really enjoy what I do here, but I'm more geared towards two routes a) doing my own thing b) take a VC route. Working with people and ideas that might disrupt industries, and the network gets me excited. Which is why I'm targeting such business schools.
Looking at the following: Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, Wharton, Haas, Duke, Kellogg, UCLA, Cornell
What do you think about my profile and how should I approach the applications if I want to get in for 2022.
