Hello there!
I’m a third-year (currently 6th semester) computer science engineering student from South India(Kerala) aspiring to be enrolled in any of the following programs.
I want to know my chances of getting into MiM programs: LBS, LSE, Imperial, UCL, INSEAD, ESCP, HEC Paris, Ross.
Moreover, I’m also seriously considering the deferred MBA programs of HBS, Stanford, MIT Sloan, Yale SOM, Kellogg, Darden, Columbia.
Please let me know the other B-Schools that I should apply to after reading my profile. I’m open to suggestions.
Career goals: want to make my way into PE/VC/HF.
Academic grades:10th Grade: 100% (Full A+ in all subjects)
12th Grade: 99% (Computer Science major; got 100% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics)
Undergrad: B.Tech Computer Science from APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala.
CGPA: 9.67/10 (up to the fourth semester)
Internship experience:None. Although I’ve done a Campus Ambassador Internship for the International Model United Nations(don’t know if it counts) for about a month. I’ve also done some virtual experience programs on a platform called Forage (formerly InsideSherpa) from Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, KPMG, and Citi.
Achievements:Awarded with Full Fee Scholarship for excellence in academics by AICTE, New Delhi.
Awarded with Central Sector Scholarship by Govt. of Kerala for excellence in academics.
Won Rashtrapati Scouts & Guides award certified by the Honorable President of India.
Volunteering Experience:Volunteered as a fundraiser for Youth NGO in India aimed at the betterment of orphans.
Certification courses:I got the following certifications from Coursera.
Building Your Leadership Skills - HEC Paris
Blockchain Transformations of Financial Services - INSEAD
Finance For Everyone: Value - McMaster University
International Security Management - Erasmus University Rotterdam
Expected GMAT score: 760 (prep in the beginning phase)
I come from a really low socio-economic background. But I don’t want that one factor to stop me from achieving my goals. I’m well aware that the reputation of the university that I’m attending is going to put a dent in my application. It’s not even close to the reputation of any premier institutes of India. But it’s fairly popular in my state.
The second would be the internship experience. Again, coming from a non-target school does have its major downsides, and as a cherry on top COVID made it almost impossible to get an internship. Even if I managed to get it, my academic terms are pushed to the semester breaks. So, it would be like doing an internship while balancing the entire engineering coursework which is impossible especially if you have classes from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Please provide me with valuable insights into my profile and areas of improvement.
