Regarding your GPA - your GMAT score will help mitigate it, but you should address the GPA in your optional essay by 1. explaining the reasons for the low GPA, in a way that conveys ownership 2. mentioning if you had an upward trajectory (i.e. weaker earlier years due to adjustment issues, etc. with a stronger finish) and 3. highlighting quant courses in which you received an A. I think you have a solid chance with these schools, but would aim for R1 if possible (since there are a good # of finance applicants, better to apply earlier rather than later if possible, while all spots are still open). What would you like to do post-MBA, short-term and long-term? Make sure to explain clearly your motivation for getting an MBA now and what excites you about each of your target schools - this is where some otherwise strong applicants fall short.
