Please review my profile:
Work experience. I have been running my e-commerce (Amazon store) company for 2.5 years. I was a co-founder and manager of a similar company for 2 years before that.
Extra curriculars. Not much here. This is what I think I may need another year for. Amateur photography and skiing doesn't count, right?
Undergrad school/major/GPA:. CUNY Baruch College, BA in Operations Management in 2012. GPA: 3.68
Race/nationality/sex/age. Ukranian immigrant, male, 27 yo.
GMAT Score. GMAT Prep 710 (Q47, V40, IR7) - after 1 week of studying. 3 weeks later took another GMAT Prep practice and got the same exact score, even the same breakdown. It's possibly because the 2nd time I took it in the late afternoon. Also my writing skills are pretty weak.
Goal of MBA. My company grew faster than I had expected with average annual ROI ~400% and annual sales over $3M. As the number of employees and simultaneous projects is growing, I start to feel that I don't have enough expertise and knowledge to lead and control everything properly. My MBA goal is gain knowledge and tools to be more effective in what I do.
Target schools Columbia EMBA. NYU Stern part-time.
In your opinion, is CBS EMBA right for me and do I have a good shot? Their recommended minimum experience is 5 years and the average is 9. Should I prepare and apply before the final deadline of June 1 or should I rather take time and apply next year? I haven't started working on any portion of the application except GMAT.

Well my first question is: Why EMBA? IT seems to me you would fit better in either a FT MBA or if you won't have time for that a PT MBA. In an EMBA people will be much older and much more experienced...
The NYU PT makes sense, and you should be able to get in if your company is doing well.

I was hoping that an MBA would help me learn how to structure a company, delegate to and control all levels of employees, about negotiation, international business law. Does an MBA make sense for me at all? And, in general, does it make sense for small business owners and entrepreneurs in your opinion?
). And given your age and place etc. I would say a FT MBA makes far more sense than an EMBA (If you are able to manage your company and do that simultaneously). Otherwise the PT MBA is a good idea. Now only PART of the MBA is going to be the knowledge you come away with that is applicable, but the rest - the networks, the experience, the confidence, is of immeasurable value.
