Hi there!

A few thoughts - first, I'd consider revisiting your goals. PE may be what you really want to do after b-school but your work experience isn't really supporting that goal as strongly as we'd ideally like to see, namely because you went from doing research to support PE firms to working at your current firm where you're helping schools. They're going to wonder why you made this switch rather than staying put in the analyst role or moving into something that's not as unrelated to PE as the education industry is. It's important to be genuine when you talk about your goals, but at the same time you want to tell a story that's going to get you into b-school. There may be more to the story here & if you'd like to talk through it with one of our consultants definitely reach out to Claudia at claudia@admissionado and she can get you set up with a free consultation. Generally speaking, the adcom likes to see a linear career path & you'll need a strong story about why you made the career changes that you did as well as why these are your post-MBA goals. PE is also a tough goal in that it's popular and competitive; something in the field of education would be worth considering given your direct experience in it (it's the longest stint on your resume) as well as the fact that it's more unique & could help you stand out. You could make a convincing argument for a post-MBA goal that's education-focused.

In terms of schools, it's hard to say for certain without knowing more about you & nailing down your goals (since you want your goals to align with that school's strengths & value proposition). That said, in terms of some topline thoughts these schools would be more in the reach category. Not completely out of reach, but they are stretch schools. I'd consider looking at schools in the 10-20 range to round out your list. Unfortunately you are from a tough demographic & you're competing against a group of people who tend to have very high GPAs & GMATs; your GPA is a bit on the low end & a 740 would definitely be a solid score but not one that would necessarily differentiate you from others in your demographic. Most Indian male engineering candidates who get into top 15 schools have GMATs in the 740 range.

That said, these applications are an art form & there are things you can do to stand out from this tough demographic like I mentioned above re your goals. There are a lot of factors that go into creating a strong, unique value proposition & it looks like you've got some good material - we just have to figure out how to position it all!

Hope that helps!
