In all honesty, I'm not sure why you are retaking the GMAT. I get the idea of scoring higher but for you, as you noted, the essays are everything at this point. On paper, you have a good shot at these top schools (though not a guarantee at all) and you have to ace your personal statements. The key is defining your brand and highlighting your accomplishments in the clearest and most cohesive manner.
It's hard to evaluate the relative strength of your essays without seeing them. As you know, there's a limit to what we can do in these forums.
