Hi guys,
So iv'e been studying for the last 90 days for the gmat with the Kaplan self paced pack, and things going well and by the plan.
Economist CAT: 590, Q44, V26
Kaplan:
#1CAT: 650, Q47, V32
#2CAT: 610, Q46, V27
#3CAT: 670, Q47, V35
#4CAT: 660, Q48, V33
#5CAT: 660, Q46, V34
#6CAT: 680, Q46, V37
my goal is 700, and i have another month to study. I feel confident since there are planty of subjects on the verbal section that i still don't know. But than yesterday i took a GMATprep CAT, which, correct me if i'm wrong, suppose to be just like a real test, and i got 600 (Q48, V25). I felt like i'm not very sharp, but my verbal score was so bad. The kaplan pack helped me with my math, though i allready was not bad with it, but i'm affraid my verbal progress on Kaplan's CATS is not reflecting real progress. What would you reccomand? i'm an israeli with an overall good english but i sucked in verbal also on the psychometry (like SAT, in hebrew. eventually hit the 700 so i thought i could make it also on the GMAT). Should i check one of those verbal for non english natives courses? Is kaplan known for being less accurate with the verbal section? Please share your thoughts.
Thanks, Assaf.
Although there are many good companies that have their own CATs, but the GMATPrep CATs are the best indicators of your success.
I would recommend you to first go through all of the fundamentals/concepts and then attempt a GMAT Prep CAT.
Do not waste the CATs by attempting them without studying the full syllabus.
Also make sure that you attempt the full CAT including the AWA and the IR section.
You can get additional CATs in Exam Pack1 from mba.com
