"Kathy's suitcase was so stuffed that she decided to pack another one"

This sentence is incorrect as is, and the corrected version is:

"Kathy's suitcase was so stuffed that Kathy decided to pack another one"

Can someone pls explain why the ifrst sentence is incorrect? Thanks.

She has no clear referent to Kathy's.

She needs to refer to "Kathy."

This is common on the GMAT and I think its harder for native speakers to pick up on. We understand and clearly know who "she" refers to.

However, in a gramatical sense, the first is incorrect.
