Hope you don't mind, GMAT Tiger - I edited your post to fix the display of the exponents. You had written your exponents like this:

$$2^35$$

which is what you get if you type, in math mode: 2^35

If your exponent is longer than one character, you need to enclose it in set braces for it to display properly:

That is, to get:
$$2^{35}$$

you need to type: 2^{35} in math mode.
