Hi everyone,
Do you think that it is an advantage to be in-state for admissions chances for public MBA programs (if it matters, a school in the 25-45 range of pretty much all rankings)?
The reason I ask, is I currently operate an LLC from home, so I can literally live anywhere as long as I have a laptop and an internet connection. My top school choice is in my home state (which I lived in till I was 22yo). I plan on moving back there sometime in the next 6 months or so, but I am very flexible as to the move date. But, even if I move back now, I won't be able to get in-state tuition for that top choice in my home state, so in-state tuition considerations are moot at this point.
So, I could move back now, and then apply, with an in-state address. Or, I could apply now with an out-of-state address and move back later.
Do any of you think it matters?
In-State: Seems to me that a public school would tend to favor its in-state residents for any borderline calls.
Out-of-State: It adds to their geographic diversity (they do note which states they have students from in their online Class Profiles).
Thoughts anyone?
Thanks,
Tom
