the solution says A is the answer, but I think D should be the answer because, you can solve for B, given any number of n, and determine if side of the equality equals the other...(given that x > 0)...
so both solutions should work.. any thoughts??

By the way, I have looked at the question 142 in OG 11/Section DS. But, as u speak about an integer n?, I'm not 100% sure that the question that I look is the one that u have a problem with.
The question is asking basically 9^(x) + 9^(-x) = b ?
The first statment is right. U have already powered by 2 the equation and found the equality that we are looking for.
The second is just saying us x > 0. But, we have no relationship between x and b. In other words, 9^(x) + 9^(-x) = 4*a or 9^(x) + 9^(-x) = 2 or so on. We have no clue about 9^(x) + 9^(-x) = b for sure. That is insufficient
