My guess is it had something to do with minor shades in the difficulty levels of the questions you got right and wrong.

Each cumulative score comes from a score range. And each scaled score most likely has a range within itself. So if you are say, a high 47-40 you get 730 but if you're a low 47-high40 you get 720 and low on both = 710 or something similar. Mind you, this is a guesstimate and not official but it's been discussed before
