Hi Jon,
Thanks for the presentation today. You spoke about connecting past experiences w future goals . What if your goals have more to do with your ECs? in my case, i have been volunteering seriously for 5 years for a non profit (full time job in Analytics in a top US Bank ). Future goal is non profit management. FYI, i am an Indian female.

You're welcome!!!!

That can also work pretty well. I've had clients use that in several cases. It works better when as you say the volunteer work is really serious, and the ore serious the better it will work. Best will be if you show how you can use BOTH your bank experience AND your Volunteer experience + MBA to get to your non-profit goal.

Thanks for the quick reply, Jon. As you say, I am trying to convey that i can use both experiences to support my future goal. I was a bit worried when i heard you mention non profit as a weak future goal in your presentation.

Well, a lot of folks go in with pipe dreams about non-profit, without having the requisite experience, which is why it's sooo important if you have it, to show it, and to make it really strong. Just make sure it's really realistic.
