I aspire to be like the big hitters in this forum and score 750 plus on my gmat. I took it once, with a week of prep and got a 650.
This forum is great because of the wealth of information here. With so many people sharing their experiences and offering advice, one can become easily inundated with information.
The trend that I see in most posts of people hitting walls in their gmat scores, (600's on 3 or 4 tries) is that they are studying their asses off, with little or no avail. I'm new here, but a stategy I always apply is "work smarter, not harder" I agree with the majority in that practice is the only way to do well on the gmat. Repition is key, however, 7 weeks of studying with little or no increase in score is a huge red flag something isn't working.
To those of you stuck in this dilemma, I can only say if your approach is wrong, 7 months let alone 7 years of studying, (the wrong way) will never help.
I have a 3.7 gpa, and I studied in intense 2-3 day bursts. That worked for me. It doesn't work for everyone, but I was honest with myself and realized the fact that I'm not the sort of person who can read a little bit each day.
