Hi vigneshn,

I’m glad you reached out, and I’m happy to help. Since your quant scores seem to be pretty inconsistent, and since you have been unable to break Q42 on the actual GMAT, it’s a sign that you have numerous weaknesses that must be addressed in order for you to improve your GMAT quant score.

So, here's the thing. The best way to improve those weaknesses is to engage in topic focused learning and practice, so that you can individually learn each GMAT quant topic and then practice each topic until you’ve achieved mastery of that topic. Yes, this process may take some time; however, if you don’t change HOW you have been preparing, the end result likely won't change either.

Since TTP is set up for exactly the type of topic focused learning and practice that you need for hitting your score goal, if you give TTP a real shot, and follow the study plan, I'm confident you can hit Q49+ on test day. If you’d like further advice or would like to discuss the TTP course, feel free to reach out to me directly.

Good luck!

Hi Vig

If you took the GMAT 4 months ago - and you have not consistently been studying since then - then it's possible that your skills have 'faded' a bit (since GMAT skills tend to fade over time).

1) What type of study routine have you been following since your last Official GMAT? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) Have you taken any practice CATs since then? And what were your Score on EACH of those CATs (I'd like to know the exact results, not "ranges")?

Based on everything that you have described, I think that your math 'knowledge' is probably fine, but there are some inefficiencies in how you approach the overall section. However you choose to proceed with your studies, you should remember that the Quant section of the GMAT is NOT a 'math test' - it's a 'critical thinking test' that requires lots of little calculations as you work through it. To score at a much higher level in this section, you need to become more of a 'strategist' and less of a 'mathematician.'

You might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich
