QUANT DIFFICULT TOPICS

Question

Hi,

I am struggling with understanding some Quants concepts. The topics include- Word Problems (Rate & Work, Speed & Distance, Interest, Profit & Loss) and Advanced Topics (PnC, Probability, Sets).
Can anyone suggest a good book or a good foundation building course to cover these topics?
I have tried Manhattan books, e-gmat course and OG but still I am not 100% sure about the questions on the above mentioned topics.
It'll be a great help!

Try gmat club questions for that and watch some youtube videos of that topic. You’ll be able to improve it.

I agree that GMAT Quant can be a little tricky and most students falter in a few topics such as Geometry, Word Problems, PnC and Probability. In word problems,  drawing the right inferences and translating the question into equation  is very important. So, you need to read the statements carefully and understand how to translate into questions. The good thing about Quant in GMAT is that it tests only  specific types of questions  from every topic. Since you are looking for additional quant resources, in addition to seeking advice in this thread, take a look at the GMAT Club reviews for the best quant courses and also read through some GMAT success stories to see what materials have worked well for other test-takers.

Hi AT7123,

Back in early June, you posted that you were going to take the GMAT in July. Did you end up taking the GMAT as planned - and if you did, then how did you score (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?

In addition, I have a few questions about your studies over the last 2 months:
1) What type of study routine have you been following?
2) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

GMAT Math has basic and advanced topics. The topics mentioned by you above hold high weightage in the GMAT actual test, and one has to be good with it.
