Hi all,
I sat the GMAT two weeks ago and scored a 600 (v40, q32 - I can't remember the breakdown exactly as I was just so disppointed with quant). I think my verbal is OK, but yeah, my math is embaressingly bad.
The quant questions that ruin me are the number property type, DS ones - involving factoring, prime numbers, integers etc etc, and also any Probabilty question. I don't have a maths background, although, I do OK on PS generally and algebra and geometry related questions. Maybe because these are more structured...
Does anyone have any advice on how I can work on general number properties? I religiously used the OG but even some of the explanations for the answers for these types of questions really confuse me, and my mind struggles to intuitively grasp the concepts of numbers.

In DS, some mistakes that I usually make are:
1. Ignoring negative numbers
2. Ignoring 0
3. Ignoring fractions
Make sure you always consider these cases while solving DS questions.

Your verbal score is GOLD. You should be happy .. It is ALOT easier to improve Quantitative skills (Math) than verbal skills/scores. My math level is 48+ and yet i'm strugelling pretty bad with the verbal section [trying to break the 30 barrier].
How to improve in math ?
- Start with the basics, regardless of question type, using the PR [princeton review] or Kaplan books
- Move on to different question types involved in the math section [ DS and PS] using Kaplan and Princeton review books for Math.
- Once feeling fairly confident on most of the math concepts, practice all problems in the OG and OG quant books.
- By then, you should be reaching the 44-46 level.
- To jump above 46, start using Kaplan 800 book and upper bin of OG and OG quant --> that'll get you up to the 48-49
- Buy the challenges from Gmat Club or practice alot with Manhattan GMAT CATs [ once done with all these steps, I can assure you a minimum score of 50 ]
