Hello folks,
I started to prepare for GMAT 2 months back with a target score of 700+. However, instead of following a strategy, I jumped to questions (verbal + quant) and tried to get hold of it. 2 months later, I failed miserably in gmat mock with 480 (Q33). I realised that I need to have a certain plan. Hence, I planned to give minimum 2 days to one single topic of quant.
I start off with theory from MGMAT books and solve questions at the end of chapter. Then, I get my hands on content on this forum which makes me little familiar on any content which I missed from book. Once, I cover theory I then do at least 15 questions in 600-700 level range (especially one with Brunel) from each question type (ps + ds). Once, I feel I have a grip on topic, I dive into OG2020 questions of that topic. After completing official questions, I give a percentage on that topic based on correct answers.
Currently, I have list of all quant topics and percentages corresponding to that. I have been keeping an error log. My error log consist of incorrect answers, guessed answers and some correct answers which I feel I got little confuse in.
I just want to make sure am I following right strategy? Moreover, given that I am doing one topic at a time, how I should make sure that I do not forget previous topics?
Any help will be appreciated.

Majority of students falter in their GMAT exam because they start their preparation with solving questions. It is very good that you have diagnosed this problem and have taken corrective action on the same.
We have helped more than 25,000 people in last 1 year in achieving their target of a good GMAT score. Maximum people attributed their success to the structured process which we suggested them. I suggest you break your preparation into 3 stages and follow the below plan:
You should keep your notes handy and should keep revising them on a weekly basis so that you will not forget the concepts.
You can also analyse your ability topic-wise and skip stages if you are good in a topic, this will expedite your preparation even further.

Stage – 2 --> Cement the concepts by practicing a sub-section in Isolation
Stage – 3 --> Become test ready (practicing all the sub-sections together)

In general, as I always tell students, a great way to learn GMAT quant and verbal is to ensure that you are following a study plan that allows you to learn each GMAT quant and verbal topic individually and then practice each topic until you’ve gained mastery. I see you are attempting to follow that method, but just ensure that you a) spend enough time with each topic and b) practice enough questions from each topic. If you can do that, then, there is no reason why you can’t see a nice score increase. Lastly, you may find it helpful to read the following articles:
