I wonder how important are the numbers in Essays? I am in IT field in Pharma/HealthCare Industry. IT is a backbone for the kind of services or tools provided to the sales/data people in my company. But still no project is quantifyable with the corresponding revenue share. Can anyone help me how the IT proects in a services company can be represented in numbers?

Thanks

The quickest one off the top of my head would be cost-savings. Otherwise an increase in productivity is probably the hallmark of IT, but I imagine that's nearly impossible to quantify precisely.

Spend gives an idea of scope and size. Time saved or % reduction gives an idea of outcome.

But....I wouldnt worry about it. The amount of \$ saved/involved isn't going to get you into business school (or keep you out for that matter).

I don't think numbers are important at all. I think people put too many numbers (of which Adcom isn't going to verify) to the point where Adcom just eyes numbers with skepticism.

Something to consider - it may be better if your recommenders talked about these numbers in their letters of recommendation instead.
