Praet, you guys may want to start a forum for applicants to ask current and admitted students. When next years applicants show up it would be a great place for them to ask specific questions and to talk to students or admits. I know a lot of us will be around next fall to help but also dont want to answer the same questions on PM 20 times or in 20 different spots. People either at the schools or heading there in the fall can post an intro to themselves to start the threads on schools. I know I started lurking around this time last year and a lot of others arrived here during the spring.

We might need a separate sub-forum for that... like the knowledge vault and essay vaults, broken up into the schools where there is GMATClub representation...

or we can use the existing school/ranking threads to do that???

It could be called something like.. "Ask the current students"
With a school for each topic... I would recommend putting in links for placement figures and candidate profiles in the first post as that's onr of the common things people usually ask!!!

About buying out some really smart people: I would rather you please keep visiting us for the rest of your life. (Translation: Money? What? I don't understand. :twisted:)

About kudos: Standardization is definitely something to think about. The objective is far simpler though - we would simply like to show appreciation to others contributions and everyone should be able to contribute to this idea.

About new forum: Lets give it a shot.

Here's my beef: when someone posts a link to something - usually semi-inappropriate you tube videos, but whatever - the link opens in the current window rather than opening a new tab or even a new window. I don't like that. It should open a new tab/window.

yes, i know that. but back when i was blogging, i always set my links to open in a different tab or window. i wanted people at my blog, not getting lost on another web page.

We can't assume that people 1) know how to set up their preferences 2) would want those preferences 3) are on computers where they can set preferences.

I often check gc on other computers where i have no control over the settings.

I'd also like to be able to search for a particular user's posts from within a thread. Right now we can search by keyword (e.g., gmat), but cannot search for all of Kryzak's posts within, say the Kellogg thread.

haha, why would anyone want to search for my posts? They're pure gibberish. :P

But yeah, I was looking for a specific user's post in one of the threads (I think it was GSB), but just couldn't find anything... also trying to find someone's profile in the Profile thread, but since they don't put their names in their posts, I couldn't find the specific user either...
