Hi Everyone!
I have some queries regarding my GMAT study plan so far and need your guidance for it -
Quant - I am planning to take up my GMAT test on October first week. My last mock test score for Quant was 48 and it was way back in July first week (my highest so far has been 49). After that I couldn't study at all because I got affected with COVID. At present, I feel a bit rusty with Quant as I am not able to think out of the box and solving most questions with brute force method. Previously I would solve 700 lvl problems with much more efficient methods. I feel I can get back to my old form if I take up the Math Revolution course but considering the fact that the course is a pretty lengthy one so I am entirely not sure if that's a good idea at the end of the day. What are your thoughts on this? Should I stick to GMAT
OG and
GMAT Club tests? Also what are your thoughts on the Math Revolution course?
Verbal - This is the section in which I need the most work. I finished
Magoosh course and I felt that I understood Verbal. In the Manhattan Mock tests I used to score around 33-34. Then I thought of going through GMAT Ninja's videos on YouTube. I really love how Charles solve all the questions. But when I tried to take up the Official Mock test, I ended up scoring a 27. My latest score was 26. I feel I am getting overwhelmed when I see questions particularly SC. Its like a lot of things (grammar, splits, Charles' tips) come up all at once when I read a question - the result I end up either skimming the question or getting it wrong. Surprisingly I have got more 700+ questions in SC and CR right compared to the Sub-600 and 600-700 questions in the
Forum Quiz.
Right now this is what I have planned for my Verbal -
1. Solve Official SC, LSAT CR and LSAT RC for one month
2. Solve questions 3 days a week and next 3 days just try to understand every question down to its core. (I feel the last part is something which has been missing in my preparation so far as I mostly skim over answers and read mostly
OG explanation - half of which I don't understand)
3. Continue Steps 1 and 2 for one month and from the following month switch to only Official questions. This way I will be much better prepared to handle GMAT level RC and CR.
4. Start taking mocks from 2nd month
Please share me your thoughts for my Verbal schedule. Thanks a lot in advance!
