I had planned to give the GMAT on Sunday (18th July) but due to some unavoidable circumstances, I have to cancel the appointment. Will this still count as one of the 2 attempts I have on the GMAT online test?
It might seem a silly question but I'm a nervous wreck and my mind ponders such questions

As per my best knowledge, if you are cancelling the exam without attempting, it will not count.
Why are you not rescheduling it instead of cancelling?? I mean, though, you will have to send some extra bucks but it surely would be less than paying for the test again.
When cancelling, you don't actually get refund. Am I right in saying this??

If you cancel today, the cancellation fee will be $200. You'll get a refund of $50. But if you're to book it again, it'll cost you $250 all over again. So your total expense would be $250-$50+$250 = $450
If you were to reschedule it for a later date today, that will cost you $150. The total you'll have spent is $250+$150 = $400
Agree with warrior1991 that rescheduling seems to be a cheaper option, but not by much. It's okay to be nervous, especially if it's your first attempt. My personal advice would be to reschedule and gather yourself at peace and give it some space. You'll end up being a lot less tensed in the exam, and that'll improve your performance.
