As it stands now, securing acceptance from HBS will be an uphill battle for you, but since you are young you have time to turn things around.
Your GPA seems low, though your Grade 10 and 12 grades seem promising. I would need to do more digging before I evaluate. Admittedly, there's really not much you can do to unscramble that egg.
The GMAT/GRE will be absolutely critical. You need to get a solid score in the 700s to overcome your GPA and just by the simple fact that you are coming from a competitive demographic. If you have not started studying now, hit the books!
There is absolutely nothing wrong with working in a family business. In fact, that often makes for an interesting story. Make sure you take on real responsibilities and deliver results!
There is also no problem with 2-year gap due to your health issues. You might want to explain that in the optional essay. Your situation also has the potential to be an 'overcoming obstacles' or 'redemption' type of narrative. We have worked with clients that have gone through such disruptions in their lives and actually have figured out ways to have this work in our favor.
In any event, if Harvard Business School is your dream, then start putting together an action plan so you can put yourself in contention. Please also reach out to us at
Admissionado if you need help with mentorship programs and, eventually, application support.
