From your opinion, do you think an online MBA program is just as good as a regular full-time program?
I noticed in some of our fellow member's questions, they want to know what is the difference of a more well-known program vs. a not so-well known program.
Personally, for what I want to do in my career, I dont necessarily need an MBA, but I would like to have one for more business experience.
Also, do you know why when I tried to do a search on Yahoo.com for online MBA programs, it only pull up programs such as University of Phoenix and other online schools rather than real universities that offers online mba programs?

Not to argue over terms, but an MBA would generally not provide you with much business experience. However, an MBA is valuable in providing business exposure- allowing you to learn, think about, and discuss what makes businessess successful and what business people should know. One of the great advantages of local MBA programs is that they place you right there, in that local economy and business climate learning from others with direct experience in that very same market . This level of localized knowledge is something that even (or perhaps especially) the ultra elites would have trouble matching, especially in the smaller metro areas.
One reason that it is easier to find the "for profit" online MBA programs when searching online is that the for profits seem to spend a lot more on marketing their programs. The online business model is especially attractive to the for profits because it avoids many of the expenses of the traditional learning environment such as the need to establish branch campuses and changing capacity utilization across regions.

Do you think people can learn still through online programs? Do you think it's a waste of time to do online program rather than the traditional mba program?
If you mentioned that an MBA program does not necessary enable one to gain experience as we have hope, then why does so many people want to get into the ultra elite schools? Why is it look down upon when people attend schools such as University of Phoenix, etc?
